JEDDAH, July 04 (bdnews24.com): At least six Bangladeshis have been killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah.

Several others were injured in the accident on Wednesday, said Nazrul Islam, deputy chief of mission at the Bangladesh embassy in Riyadh.

The victims were on their way to a factory on a minibus, Mobarak Hossain, a Jeddah-based migrant worker, told bdnews24.com by phone, citing one of the injured people.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and it hit a roadside electricity poll when a tyre burst, Hossain said.

There were 16 Bangladeshi citizens on the vehicle, Nazrul added.

Labour Councillor Aminul Islam at the Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah said they were yet to get the details of the victims.
