Separate secretariat for judiciary soon: CJ

Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed on Wednesday said that a separate secretariat for the judiciary would be implemented soon.

He said this while visiting the office of the "Supreme Court Reporters Forum (SRF)", a platform of the reporters covering news of the apex court of the country, in the city.

The Chief Justice said, "Our proposal is now being scrutinised from different perspectives. It is being examined to see whether there are any constitutional and legal obligations. I hope it will soon take its final shape."

The Chief Justice praised the role of journalists in implementing his announced roadmap for the judiciary. At the time, the Chief Justice sought help from lawyers and journalists to establish an independent judiciary.

Earlier, SRF President Mas Udur Rahman Raana and other officer bearers welcomed the Chief Justice at the SRF office.
