The route map for going to Central Shaheed Minar on February 21

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have finalised a route map for the people who will go to the Central Shaheed Minar on February 21 to pay homage to language martyrs.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman announced the route map at a press conference held at Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom on Friday.

VC Akhtaruzzaman said, "Maximum five people from any organisations or institutes will be allowed to go to the altar of Shaheed Minar due to the existing Covid-19 situation."

He added: "For maintaining social distance, road signs will be assigned after three feet distance from Palashi crossing to Shaheed Minar. Following these signs, people will have to go to Shaheed Minar and place wreaths."

The route map will come into effect from 7:00 pm on Sunday (February 20), said a press release issued by Dhaka University (DU).

According to the release, the people can enter Shaheed Minar through Azimpur Road, Palashi crossing and Fuller Road. Shaheed Minar could also be reached through the road in front of Home Economics College and Eden College via Azimpur crossing and Palashi crossing.

People from Chankharpool area can go to Shaheed Minar through Bakshibazar crossing, Palashi crossing and the road in front of Jagannath Hall. After placing wreaths at Shaheed Minar, people will go back using the road in front of the DU playground, Doyel Chattar intersection and Chankharpool.
