SI shown arrested in Ctg Yaba case

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 01: A police sub-inspector was shown arrested today in connection with the seizure of Yaba pills from a Dhaka-bound mini truck.

A team of the Rapid Action Battalion in Chattogram halted a mini truck, carrying furniture to Mohammedpur of Dhaka in Redwan Petrol Pump area under Mirsarai police station on the Chattogram-Dhaka highway on Friday.

After searching the truck the RAB members found 29, 228 pieces of Yaba tablets inside a cabinet box under the furniture and arrested driver Moktar and helper Md Sabuj of the truck along with the tablets.

Investigation officer of the case sub-inspector (SI) of Mirsarai police Abul Hashem said the arrested youths have told the RAB and police that SI of Khulsi police Badruddoja Mahmud gave the box to carry it to Mohammedpur in Dhaka.

He said SI Badruddoja was sending the contraband drug tablets to Mohammedpur from his residence at High Level Road under Khulsi police in Chattogram by the mini truck, as it was confessed by the truck driver and his helper.
