Six qualify for third edition in Barishal

The audition round for the third edition of 'Ispahani Mirzapore Banglabid', one of the most popular TV reality shows, was held at Barishal division on Friday.

A panel of judges selected six best for Ispahani Mirzapore Banglabid from more than 1,000 students auditioned.

The programme kicked off on the Barishal Govt Model School and College premises at 09:00 am, according to a press release.

Ispahani Mirzapore, one of the leading local brands, has been hosting the Bangla linguistic competition and TV reality show since 2017.

The show aims to motivate the young generation to practise Bangla spelling and use correct language.

The winners were chosen based on their competence in spelling, pronunciation and perfect use of grammar.

Mohsina Hossain, chairman of Bangla department at Barishal University, and Mahidul Islam, a prominent poetry recite, adjudicated at the event.

Later, Barishal divisional commissioner Ram Chandra Sen and Ispahani Tea Limited senior divisional manager Md Jasimul Haque Bahar handed the winners certificates.

In the grand finale to be held in Dhaka, the first three winners will get Tk 1.0 million, Tk 0.3 million and Tk 0.2 million each respectively.

The first 10 winners will also receive a laptop along with Bangla books and a bookshelf worth Tk 50,000 each to set up his or her own library.
