Southeast Univ hosts discussion on July-August Uprising

Southeast University commemorated last year's July-August movement with 'July Remembrance 2025', a solemn discussion and documentary screening programme on Friday, according to a press release.
Held at the university's Multipurpose Hall, the event highlighted the sacrifices of martyrs Abu Saeed, Mugdha, and four martyrs of Southeast University.
Speakers emphasised the significance of the movement and the pioneering role students played.
The programme commenced with the national anthem, followed by the screening of a documentary on the movement. Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mahtab, dean of the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Southeast University, and convener of the event implementation committee, delivered the introductory remarks.
Other important speakers included Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, dean of Southeast Business School, and Major General Md. Anwarul Islam (Retd.), the university's registrar. During the discussion segment, Southeast University faculty and students, who participated in the movement, shared their reminiscences.
