Southeast University celebrated Victory Day by organising a special discussion meeting and cultural programme on Wednesday at the university's Multipurpose Hall. Renowned lyricist Mohammad Rafiquzzaman attended the programme as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Southeast University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam. Professor Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, pro-vice-chancellor, spoke as the Special Speaker, highlighting the historical and cultural significance of Victory Day, which is observed in the country on December 16.
Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and convener of the Victory Day Celebration Committee, delivered the welcome address.
Teachers and students presented patriotic songs and cultural performances to honour the spirit of Victory Day. The registrar, deans, faculty members, officers, employees, and students of Southeast University were present at the event.
