Speaker seeks Swiss help for solution to Rohinyga crisis

Noting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina introduced a new path of humanity giving shelter to displaced Rohingyas, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury sought assistance from Switzerland government to build global opinion and denounce the "acts against humanity and violation of human rights" in a bid to reach a permanent solution to the crisis, reports UNB.

The Speaker came with the urge while paying a courtesy call on Swiss President Alain Berset at a city hotel on Wednesday.

During the meeting, they discussed different bilateral issues, including Rohingya, economic and infrastructural development, poverty alleviation, social security net and women empowerment.
