Special drive: Police arrest 1,641 people in 24 hours

Police have arrested a total of 1,641 individuals across the country during a special drive in the last 24 hours (from 6:00 am Thursday to 6:00 am Friday).

Enamul Haque Sagar, assistant inspector general (media and public relations) of the Police Headquarters, said of the arrestees, 1,054 were arrested in connection with specific cases and warrants, while 587 were detained in separate incidents.

During the drive, police also recovered a homemade stengun, a one-shooter gun, eight rounds of cartridges, and two LG rounds.
