Special prayers mark Shab-e-Meraj

The holy Shab-e-Meraj was observed on Saturday night across the country with due respect and religious fervor, report agencies.

Special prayers, discussions and milad mahfils were held in mosques and at other places across the country throughout the night.

The Muslim devotees offered special prayers all the night in mosques and homes to seek blessings of Allah for welfare of the entire nation and the Muslim Ummah.

Marking the night, Islamic Foundation also organised discussion, milad and doa mahfil at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque with its Deenee Dawat and Cultural Division Director Md Mujaharul Mannan in the chair, said a press release.

Principal of Darul Ulum Ahsania Kamil Madrasah Maulana Abu Zafar Mohammad Helaluddin delivered religious sermon at the function while Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram Mufti Maulana Mohammad Mizanur Rahman conducted munajat seeking divine blessing and welfare for the nation and Muslim Ummah.

Assistant Director of the Islamic Foundation Md Hares Sinha and officials of the foundation attended the programme, among others.

Muslims observe Shab-e-Meraj, the night Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) embarked on a special journey to meet the Almighty, every year on 27th of Arabic month of Rajab.

In the journey, the Prophet (PBUH) traveled on the 'Buraq' to Heaven where Allah gave him instructions to take back to the faithful regarding the details of prayers.
