Sylhet's rail links resume after six hrs

SYLHET, May 8 (UNB): The train communications of Sylhet with other parts of the country resumed on Tuesday morning after a suspension of six hours due to the collapse of a tree on a train locomotive in Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar district.
Shamsernagar Railway Station master Kabir Ahmed said a tree fell on the engine of Sylhet-bound intercity train 'Udayan Express' from Chattogram in Lawachhara National Park area during a storm around 4:30 am, snapping the rail communications on the Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chattogram routes.
Several hundred passengers had to undergo untold sufferings due to the accident.
The rail communications resumed around 9:30 am after the tree was removed from the tracks, said Ismail Hossain, Sreemangal Railway Station master.
