The second round audition of the knowledge-based reality show "Ispahani Mirzapore Banglabid" under the auspices of Ispahani Group and designed by Channel- i, was held at the Ispahani Public School and College in the city on Friday.
Ten contestants out of the total 1,000 participants of Chattogram division were selected to take part in the final round in Dhaka, says a press release.
Ispahani Group, one of the leading conglomerates of the country, arranged the show for the second time, where students participated after undergoing different tests, including Bangla spelling, pronunciation and the correct use of grammar-at divisional levels.
The selection process started at 9 am in the city. Among the judges were Niamatullah Bhuiyan, assistant professor at Bangla Department of Chattogram University, Dr Mayukh Chowdhury, a retired teacher of the same university, and famous recitation artiste Mahidul Islam.
Later, Brig Gen (retd) Mohammad Moslehuddin Bhuiyan, principal of Ispahani Public School and College, and chief guest Shantunu Biswas handed over prizes to the winners.
Students of classes VI-X took part in the contest after undergoing different tests of 40 marks, including Bangla spelling, pronunciation and usage of grammar.
The champion will get a talent pool scholarship worth Tk 1 million while the first and second runners-up will get Tk 0.3m and Tk 0.2m prize money respectively.
In addition, 10 other winners will receive a laptop each and books worth around Tk 50,000, and bookshelves to set up personal libraries.
