Condolences pour in for Manzur Elahi

The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) was deeply shocked and saddened at the death of its board member eminent business leader and former adviser to the caretaker government Syed Manzur Elahi, reports BSS.
In a condolence message, CPD mentioned that Syed Manzur Elahi was a well-wisher of CPD and was actively involved in its various activities. He was a member of the Citizen's Committee during the "Honest and Competent Candidate Campaign" launched by the CPD in 2006.
Under this initiative, CPD prepared the 'Vision 2021' document for which “we received his valuable input and guidance”.
His suggestions enriched CPD's work, and he frequently chaired CPD dialogues, where his insightful comments stimulated thoughtful discussions among participants.
His bold and perceptive opinions inspired many people, so his absence will create a significant void in the business sector, the message read. CPD has lost a guardian and leader who steered it through his profound wisdom and progressive insights. CPD family expressed sincere condolences to his bereaved family. They prayed for peace of the departed soul of Syed Manzur Elahi. Elahi, chairman of the Apex Group and the founding chairman of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB), was a pillar in the business community of Bangladesh.
