Three arrested over Primeasia student killing

Police arrested three individuals on Monday in connection with the killing of Zahidul Islam Parvez, a student of Primeasia University, on its campus in the capital on Saturday (April 19).
The arrestees were Md Al Kamal Sheikh alias Kamal (19), Alvi Hossain Junayed (19), and Al Amin Sani (19).
Disclosing the development, a police official of Banani Police Station said the arrestees were not named in the case's first information report (FIR). But they were present at the crime scene and were identified through CCTV footage.
The trio was arrested during early morning raids in Mohakhali Wireless Gate and nearby areas. They would be presented before the court with a remand plea. It would help identify others involved in the murder and uncover the motive behind the killing, he added.
On Saturday night, the victim's cousin, Humayun Kabir, filed a murder case with Banani Police Station over Parvez's death. The FIR named eight individuals, including Primeasia University students and outsiders.
The accused were Meheraz Islam (20), Abu Zohor Giffari Pias (20), Md Mahathir Hasan (20), Sobhan Niaz Tushar (24), Hridoy Miazi (23), Rifat (21), Ali (21), and Fahim (22). Additionally, 25-30 unidentified individuals were also accused.
