Three cops on fresh remand in narcotics case

A Dhaka court placed on Friday three policemen on one-day remand afresh in a case filed under Narcotics Control Act, reports BSS.

The three accused are Gulshan thana Assistant sub-inspector Masud Ahmed Miaji (44), APBn constable Proshant Mandal (23) and Nayek Md Jahangir Alam (27).

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order as investigation officer and Uttara East thana inspector Paridesh Chandra produced the three before court and pleaded to place them on five-day remand afresh.

Another court on September 16 placed the trio, along with two other policemen on remand in the case. The other two accused are Armed Police Battalion (APBn) constables Md Roni Mollah (21) and Md Shariful Islam (23).
