Three die of dengue in 24 hrs, 712 hospitalised

Three people died of dengue fever in the past 24 hours until Saturday morning, when a record 712 patients were also hospitalised across the country.

Considering the latest daily figures, total fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease reached 67 while the number of hospitalised patients reached 20,235.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures on Saturday evening in its regular bulletin.

Of the fresh positive cases, 499 patients were admitted to fifty public and private hospitals in Dhaka city while the remaining 213 were admitted in other regions of the country.

Dhaka division, excluding Dhaka city, hospitals reported 14 cases, Chattogram division 102, Khulna 28, Rajshahi 18, Barishal 42, Sylhet four and Mymensingh five cases.

Currently, 2,416 people are admitted to hospitals including 1,838 in Dhaka city and 578 elsewhere in the country.

A total of 17,752 dengue patients have been released from hospitals after treatment so far this year.
