Three ministries won't use single-use plastic bottles

Single-use plastic water bottles will no more be used in meetings, seminars, workshops and other daily activities in the ministries, departments and offices, organisations and companies under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and Ministry of Railways.

Dr Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser of these ministries, issued a directive in this regard on Thursday.

In another directive, the adviser also ordered formulation of recruitment and promotion policies for all the organisations and companies under these ministries. He asked the officials concerned to formulate and update the policies, and send those to the ministries after approval of the boards concerned.

Both these directives were issued through an office order from the adviser's office, stated a press release.
