Three mobile phone smugglers remanded

Three people were placed on a two-day remand each on charge of smuggling mobile phones of different brands, reports BSS.

The people who were put on remand are Md Suzan (49), Shahriar Hossain Prince (33), and Md Rafikul Islam (27).

Members of Airport Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) arrested the three on Saturday morning at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with 2,246 sets of mobile phone.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Asheq Imam passed the order as investigation officer of the case and Airport thana inspector (operation) Nur Mohammad produced them before the court and sought a 10-day remand for them.

The three arrestees at first gave confusing information, later confessed to carrying the undeclared phones in their luggage. Police found 2,246 sets of mobile phone of different brands including iPhone, Samsung, Xiaomi and One Plus from their possessions.
