Travel ban on ex-NBR chief Najibur
Ban also imposed on Max Group, Toma Group chairmen

A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued a travel ban on Md Najibur Rahman, former chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), his wife Nazma Rahman, and their two sons Fuad N A Rahman and Farabi N A Rahman.
It also issued the same order for Max Group Chairman Ghulam Mohammed Alomgir and his wife Kaniz Fatema, and Toma Group Chairman Mohammad Ataur Rahman Bhuiyna, his daughter Rashnat Tarin Rahman and son Mukitur Rahman.
Judge of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court in Dhaka, Md Zakir Hossain, passed the order after hearing separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Earlier on the day, ACC Deputy Director Md Khairul Haque filed the petitions, seeking necessary order.
ACC Public Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam and Md Ruhul Islam Khan moved the petitions before the court.
In the petitions, it said an ACC team is inquiring an allegation of corruptions against former NBR chairman Najibur and his family members.
The team came to know that Mr Najibur and his family members were trying to flee the country.
In a separate petition, the entity said an investigation was going on by an ACC team over a money laundering allegation against the Max Group chairman, the Toma Group chairman and their family members.
