Two female journos receive Selina Parveen Award

Speakers at an award distribution event called for recognising contributions of women pioneers to different sectors including journalism to expedite women development activities and their emancipation for establishing a society based on equality.

Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendra (BNSK) arranged the award-giving event to distribute 'Shaheed Sangbadik Selina Parveen Sahosikota Award' to two female journalists at the National Press Club in the city on Thursday.

BNSK President Nasimun Ara Haq presided over the function. Ekushey Padak recipient Trustee of Muktijuddho Jadughar Mofidul Hoque and Professor Mahfuza Khan were present as special guests. Ajker Patrika Editor Dr Golam Rahman also attended the programme as guest of honour.

BNSK conferred the Shaheed Sangbadik Selina Parveen Sahosikota Award-2020 on Senior Reporter of the Ekattor television Kaberi Maitraya.

Rozina Parveen, Special Correspondent of the daily 'Prothom Alo', was the recipient of the Shaheed Sangbadik Selina Parveen Sahosikota Award-2021 for her courageous contributions to journalism during the Covid-19 pandemic.
