Two held for ‘stealing money, ornaments’

Police on Friday arrested two teenagers after a woman of the capital's Adabor, filed a case on the same day for stealing money and ornaments made of gold and bronze from her house.

The arrestees were identified as Mahin (16) and Rehan (16), according to an official of Adabor Police Station. He said that police would continue their investigation to arrest other suspects involved in the incident.

The law enforcers located the arrestees applying modern technology and recovered more than 32 bhoris of gold ornaments, over 10 bhoris of bronze ornaments, and Tk 87,000 in cash from their possession.

On December 30, the woman found the door of her house broken and her ornaments and money stolen. She left her home on December 28.

In a separate incident, police on Saturday arrested a 25-year-old female garment worker along with her male colleague, with whom she has a relationship, after the duo had been suspected of being involved in the killing of the woman's six-month-old child.

The arrestees have been identified as Mosammat Fatema Begum, and her "fiancé" Md Jafar (36).
