Two more children die with measles symptoms -

Two more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours until 8:00 am on Friday, according to the health authorities.

With the latest daily count, the total fatalities due to measles and measles-like symptoms rose to 837 since March 15 last.

Of the total fatalities, 96 were confirmed as measles cases, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its daily bulletin.

Meanwhile, as many as 900 suspected and 185 confirmed measles infections were reported in the past 24 hours.

The total suspected measles infections rose to 128,310 and confirmed infections reached 16,059.

In response to a measles outbreak rapidly spreading across the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has already vaccinated over 18.48 million children since April and kept the campaign continuing.

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease, which affects individuals of all ages and remains one of the leading causes of death among young children globally.
