FE REPORT
The health authorities registered two more casualties due to measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours until Saturday 8:00 am.
With the new fatalities, the measles-related deaths rose to 731 since mid-March this year. Of the total fatalities, 93 were confirmed cases, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin.
Meanwhile, 732 suspected and 101 confirmed measles infections were recorded in the past 24 hours. The total suspected measles infections rose to 104,693 and confirmed infections to 12,526 since mid-March, said DGHS.
In response to a measles outbreak rapidly spreading across the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched an emergency measles-rubella vaccination campaign on April 5, targeting the children aged six months to five years. The government has already vaccinated over 18.47 million children since April, and the immunisation programme would continue.
