FE REPORT
The 8th Convocation of United International University (UIU) was held at its campus in the city on Saturday.
Prof. Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman, Vice Chancellor (VC) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), presided over the ceremony on behalf of the President and UIU Chancellor.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), attended as a special guest.
Prof. Dr. M. Taher A. Saif, Grainger Distinguished Chair at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA, was the convocation speaker.
The ceremony was also addressed by Hasan Mahmood Raja, Chairman of the UIU Board of Trustees (BoT); and Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice Chancellor .

Prof. Dr. Badruzzaman emphasised advancing and sustaining innovations through scalable solutions.
A total of 1,736 students from various disciplines received undergraduate and graduate degrees, with four students being awarded Gold Medals for their outstanding academic performance.
Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossen highlighted that the knowledge and skills gained at UIU are not only for personal growth but also for contributing to the development of society.
Convocation speaker, Prof. Dr. M. Taher A. Saif, congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their future endeavors, advising them to work sincerely for human welfare.
Mr. Hasan Mahmood Raja, expressed confidence that UIU graduates will bring pride to their families and the community through their professional achievements.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, called on the graduates to dedicate themselves to the welfare of society and humanity.
The event was attended by VCs of various universities, BoT members of UIU, deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and academicians.
