UIU receives Tk 40m as research grant

The Centre for Energy Research (CER) of United International University (UIU) received around Tk 40 million (4.0 crore) as research grant from Energy and Power Research Council (EPRC) of Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of Bangladesh, says a press release.
The grant is awarded for researches on "Demand Response Enabled Smart Grid".
Director of CER of UIU and the team leader and principal investigator of the research project Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury received the grant at Bijoy Hall of Bidyut Bhaban in the city recently.
State Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Mr. Nasrul Hamid, MP, Secretary of Power Division Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, Chairman of EPRC Shahin Ahmed, Chairman of BPDB Khaled Mahmud and Vice Chancellor of UIU Prof Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman were present among others.
