UNDP reinstates Jaya Ahsan as Goodwill Ambassador for third term

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has reinstated actress and social activist Jaya Ahsan as its Goodwill Ambassador for Bangladesh, marking her third consecutive term in the role since her initial appointment in 2022, reports UNB.

She will serve in this voluntary role for the next one year.

As Goodwill Ambassador, Jaya will champion the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), raising awareness and mobilising support on issues such as poverty reduction, gender equality, climate action, and inclusive governance.

Reflecting on her renewed role, Jaya said, "I feel privileged to continue this journey with UNDP. With only five years left to achieve the SDGs, the urgency has never been greater."
