Vessel goes aground in Ctg port channel

CHITTAGONG, Jan 15: A container-laden vessel got stranded in Chittagong Port channel on Monday while it was approaching from outer anchorage towards jetty.

However, the vessel will not create any problem in the movements of other ships, as it was stuck beside the main channel, said Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) officials.

They also said they were toeing the vessel to the jetty with the port's tugboat.

The vessel MV Tijini, bearing Malta's flag, got aground while trying to avoid possible clash with a fishing trawler, after the former sailed for the port jetty with containers in the morning.
