Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country having chances of rain/thunder showers at one or two places over Sylhet division in the next 24 hours from 06:00 am today (Sunday), according to the Met Office.

Very severe to severe heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Chuadanga, Dhaka, Tangail, Manikganj Faridpur, Rajshahi, Sirajganj and Jashore. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping elsewhere over the country and it may continue.

The highest temperature of the country was recorded on Saturday at 42.0 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga, while the lowest temperature was 22.0 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 40.1 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 28.9 degrees Celsius.
