A mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Narayanganj, Madaripur and Kishoregonj and it may abate from few places, according to the Met Office.

Light to moderate rain/thunder showers with temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country until 6:00 pm today (Saturday). Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged.

The highest temperature of the country was recorded on Friday at 38.5 degrees Celsius in Dimla of Nilphamari, while the lowest temperature was 23.8 degrees Celsius in Bandarban.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 28.8 degrees Celsius.
