Week-long joint forces drive nets 385 crime suspects: ISPR

The defence ministry's inter service public relations directorate (ISPR) on Thursday said military-led joint forces in a weeklong nationwide drive arrested 385 crime suspects like identified terrorists and perpetrators of mob violence, reports BSS.
"Units under several infantry divisions and independent brigades of Bangladesh Army carried a few joint operations in different parts of the country including the capital in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies from June 19, 2025 to June 26, 2025," the ISPR said in a statement.
It said the operations yielded arrest of 385 crime suspects like identified terrorists or gangsters and perpetrators of mob violence, extortionists, adolescent gang members and people illegally possessing weapons.
According to the ISPR others who were rounded up in the drive included alleged smugglers, abductors, land grabbers, robbers, people engaged in misappropriating of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) goods, illegal manpower recruiters, traders involved in food adulteration and drug traders and addicts.
