When will effective mosquito repellent be available: HC

The High Court (HC) on Tuesday asked the authorities concerned to inform it by tomorrow (Thursday) how long it will take to bring effective and proper mosquito repellent, reports BSS.

Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi said these while holding further hearing on a suo moto rule it had issued.

Chief health officers of Dhaka North and South City Corporations on July 25 had informed the court about conducting coordinated drives to eliminate Aedes mosquitoes in the capital and the court had fixed Tuesday for holding further hearing on the matter.

Earlier on July 14, the HC had asked the two city corporations to take steps within 24 hours to eradicate Aedes mosquitoes in the capital.

The court had also ordered them to take preventive measures to stop the spread of dengue and chikungunya in the city.

The court in its suo moto order at that time had asked to submit a report in this regard by July 22.
