Woman's hanging body recovered in city

A woman was found dead, hanging from the ceiling, on the second floor of Arman Housing at Kuril Ghatpar in the capital's Khilgaon area, according to the police and family members. The incident occurred around 11:30 am on Tuesday.

The woman identified as Shila Khatun (28) was rescued in an unconscious state and rushed to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital, where the attending physician pronounced her dead at nearly 12:30 PM.

The deceased's sister, Suma Akter, stated that her sister was somewhat temperamental. She allegedly hanged herself with a scarf tied to a ceiling fan in her room following a domestic dispute with her husband.

"My sister was a bit short-tempered. Following a marital argument, she went into her room and hanged herself with a scarf suspended from the ceiling fan. We found her unconscious, took her to Dhaka Medical, where the doctor declared her dead.”

Md. Faruk, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp, confirmed the death.
