Youths float new business plans in final phase

Drishty Chittagong organised the title competition of the Ispahani Drishty Brainstorming 2019 assisted by Rangs FC Properties Limited at a port city restaurant on Saturday afternoon, says a press release.

The youths presented their new business ideas and solved different real life business issues in the final phase of the competition,

In the 10th edition of the competition, four teams defeated 35 teams from different universities at three stages of case solving, rebranding and TVC and they reached the final round of the competition.

At the beginning of the event, the youths made their presentations. They highlighted the possibility of different business opportunities and obstacles in the country on branding the Economic Zone of Bangladesh.

The team from Finance Department of Chittagong University called 'Biz Pro' won the competition by giving outstanding ideas for branding Chattogram and Bangladesh.

Chittagong University students Sourav Ghosh, Palash Ahmed and Abu Bakar Rony presented the idea how the country can benefit a lot by expanding the tourism industry.

Afzal Hossain, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Matra Advertising Limited, Chattogram University's Professor Mohammad Abdullah Mamun, Quayes Chowdhury, Executive Vice President of City Bank Limited, Tanvir Shahriar Rimon, CEO of Rangs FC Properties Ltd and Nasrin Sarwar Meghla, Director (HR) of Prantik Group were the chief judges at the competition.

At the end of the competition, there was a debate session presided over by president of Drishty Chittagong Masud Bakul.

Artist Afzal Hossain, Educationist Safia Gazi Rahman, Chief Operating Officer of Ispahani Tea Limited Shantanu Biswas, vice president of Drishty Chittagong Saif Chowdhury, Chittagong University teacher Adnan Mannan and CEO of Rangs FC Properties Tanvir Shahriar Rimon attended the session, conducted by General Secretary of Drishty Chittagong Saber Shah.

Afzal Hossain in his speech said, "Frustration and resentment haunt us in our daily lives. But amidst such events, we see the light of our hope. "

Shantanu Biswas, Chief Operating Officer of Ispahani Tea Limited, said, "The young people were saying about the possibilities today. They drew the map of a country in front of us, which we have dreamt of."

Saifia Gazi Rahman said, "Today's presentations of this young generation were interesting, but there seemed to be a little more fulfilments."

Chittagong University teacher Adnan Mannan said the youths are illuminating the world stage after the country's liberation. Drishty's Chittagong President Masud Bakul said Drishty has been working on intellectual development in Chittagong for the last nine years.

At the end of the discussion session, the guests gave prizes to the winners. The champion team received the prize money of Tk 20 thousand and a crest by the Ranks FC Properties Ltd.

Besides, the runner-up team received a crest and prize money of Tk 10 thousand. The competition started on March 29. In the last week, all the teams got the opportunity to take part in various workshops including Business Ideas and Television Commercials.

Drishty's vice president Bankusum Barua Nupur, Shahidul Islam, General Secretary of Drishty Chittagong Saber Shah, Coordinator of the competition Saifuddin Munna, Professor of Premier University; Drishty's Organising Secretary Kazi Arafat, Assistant Secretary Munna Majumdar, Ridwan Alam Adnan and Anirban Barua were present at the concluding ceremony, among others.
