A total of 38,570 Hajj pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia until Sunday.
They went to the country in a total of 96 flights, 47 of which were operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 33 by Saudi Airlines, and 16 by Flynas. Ministry of Religious Affairs revealed the information in its latest bulletin on Hajj on Monday morning.
Six Bangladeshi pilgrims had died in Saudi Arabia until Sunday, according to the ministry's Hajj management portal.
The latest deceased Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrim has been identified as Md Foyez Uddin (72), who hailed from Nilphamari and went for the pilgrimage under government management.
A total of 87,100 Bangladeshi pilgrims will go to Saudi Arabia for Hajj this year.
The number of pre-Hajj flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines is 118, while Saudi Airlines 80 and Flynas 34.
After Hajj, Biman Bangladesh Airlines to operate 109 flights, while Saudi Airlines 79, and Flynas 35.
The last Hajj flight is scheduled on May 31, 2025.
The first return Hajj flight will commence on June 10, 2025 and continue until on July 10, 2025.
Hajj registration started on September 1, 2024 and ended on December 26, 2024.
This year, the cost of performing Hajj under government management is set Tk 478,242 under Package-1 and Tk 575,680 under Package-2.
The minimum cost for pilgrims under private management is Tk 483,156. A total of 941 hajj agencies are engaged in dealing with hajj operation this year. The holy hajj is expected to be observed on June 5, subject to moon sighting.
