56 BNP men indicted for obstructing police

A Dhaka court framed on Tuesday charges against 56 leaders and activists of BNP including Mirza Abbas, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel in a case lodged for allegedly obstructing police from performing their duties in 2012, reports BSS.
Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur indicted them and set December 30 to start recording depositions of the witnesses.
The other accused include Mir Sorafat Ali Sopu, Sultan Salauddin Tuku, Azizul Bari Helal and Saiful Islam Nirob.
According to the case documents, the accused carried out subversive activities in the city's Paltan area on October 2, 2012, and obstructed police from performing their duties.
