About 0.13m NID correction applications still pending at EC: DG

About 0.13 million (1.30 lakh) applications for corrections in the National Identity Card (NID) are still pending with the Election Commission (EC), reports BSS.

"These applications will be processed quickly," said ASM Humayun Kabir, Director General of the National Identity Registration Wing of the EC.

The DG said that so far, around 1.2 million NID correction applications have been resolved since his tenure began. Before the NID correction programme was postponed due to the 13th national election, 75,000 to 76,000 applications were pending.
