ACC nabs two for 'embezzling Tk 756.6m from BASIC Bank

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of Tk 756.6 million from state-run BASIC Bank Ltd.

The detainees are - Techno Design & Development Ltd managing director Kamal Hossain Selim and former official of BASIC Bank's Gulshan branch Md Hemayet Uddin Talukder.

A team of the Commission arrested the two persons from the city's Segunbagicha, ACC public relations officer Pranab Bhattacharjee confirmed that to the FE.

The two persons were arrested as part of investigation into the case, he said.

They were arrested according to a special criminal case filed with Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court by Advanced Development Technologies senior manager (logistics) Mashiur Rahman Sarker in 2016.

ACC Dhaka integrated district office deputy director Md Ibrahim is investigating the case.
