ACC sues ex-minister Khalid Mahmud for graft

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former state minister of shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on charges of having illegal assets worth about Tk 60 million and suspicious transactions worth more than TK 130 million, reports UNB.

Director General of ACC Md Akhter Hossain shared the information with reporters about the case filed by ACC assistant director Minhaj Bin Islam.

He said said Khalid, also a former MP from Dinajpur-2 constituency, acquired assets worth Tk 57.4 million inconsistent with his known sources of income. In addition, there are allegations of suspicious transactions totaling about TK 13o million e in 11 bank accounts and five credit card accounts in his name.
