AL begins nomination form sale for Rangpur-3 by-polls

The ruling Awami League (AL) started on Monday the sale of nomination papers among the aspirants for the by-poll to Rangpur- 3 constituency, reports BSS.

They can collect their nomination papers until tomorrow (Wednesday) from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday from the party chief Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi office and the nomination forms must be submitted at the same office by 5:00 pm on Thursday.

AL office secretary Dr Abdus Sohban Golap, MP, inaugurated the nomination form sale at AL President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi office at about 11:00 am.

AL advisory council member Chowdhury Khalequzzaman and Rangpur Zila AL organising secretary Adv Anarul Islam both collected nomination forms aiming to vie for the Rangpur-3 by-polls with AL ticket.

On Sunday, the Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule for the Rangpur by-poll.

Voting of the by-election will be held on October 05 using the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) across the constituency.
