AL leader’s body recovered from Ctg jungle

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 25: The body of a local Awami League (AL) leader was found in a jungle near his home in Mirerswari Upazila of Chattogram, three days after being reported missing.

The police recovered the body on Friday from a jungle beside the road in the Jamalre Dokan area under Sadar Union.

The victim was identified as Md. Abu Taher Bhuiyan (52), who was the president of the ward unit of AL.

Mirerswari Thana OC Abdul Quader said, "After receiving information, we immediately dispatched a team to the scene, and the body was sent to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy."

He further mentioned that an investigation has been launched, and a case is being processed at the police station to determine the circumstances surrounding Taher's death.
