Ansar al-Islam member remanded in DSA case

A court in the city on Friday placed an alleged member of banned militant outfit Ansar al-Islam on one-day remand in a case lodged under Digital Security Act (DSA), reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ataullah passed the order as police produced the accused Md Rabbi before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand.

A Cyber Intelligence team of the police arrested Rabbi on early Friday from Fatulla area of Narayanganj and seized a mobile phone and two SIM cards from his possession.

"During our online monitoring, we identified a Facebook ID belonging to Rabbi calling for killing people who dishonours Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
