Attack on transport office in city: One receives bullet

Gunmen stormed into a transport office and sprayed bullets on a leader of transport owners and workers' committee, leaving him injured at capital's Saidabad Bus Terminal Thursday night, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Tawhidul Islam Taiyab, 40, general secretary of Ishakhan Paribahan Malik Samity and also Workers' Committee secretary of the transport company.
Witnesses said, a gang of four unidentified attackers, carrying firearms, stormed into the Malik Samity office at Saidabad and opened fire on the Ishakhan Paribahan Malik Samity leader, leaving him severely injured at 9-30 pm.
Hearing sound of gunfire locals rushed to the spot and rescued bullet-hit Tawhid who was lying on the floor in a pool of blood. He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where his condition was stated to be very critical.
