'Anti Fascist Coalition' held a protest rally on Dhaka University (DU) campus on Monday to press home six demands, including reforming the police and imposing ban on Awami League.
They made the demands from the protest rally in front of the Anti-Terrorism Raju Sculpture.
The organisation opined that reformation of the police force should include swift steps such as changing its name and uniform colour to present them in a friendly way to the people, while the boat symbol from their uniform should also be removed.
Without a delay, legal actions must be taken against the members of police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and other law enforcement agencies, who attacked protesters during the movement.
Officials appointed during the AL tenure must be dismissed and contracts of those employed on a contractual basis must be revoked, it demanded.
All cases filed against the protesters on charges of creating anarchy must be withdrawn and the arrestees in these cases must be unconditionally released.
The organisation also demanded that recruitment processes initiated during the AL's tenure, but not yet completed, must be cancelled, and new recruitment processes should begin. All government appointments made in the last 15 years must be re-examined.
