Bangladesh a shining example of communal harmony: Hasan

September 29, 2019 00:00:00

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Saturday said Bangladesh has set an example in the world by establishing inter-community coherence in the country, reports BSS.

"Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led the nation to form a non-communal Bangladesh. The government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes in amity among the religions of the state… There is no place for communalism here", a release here quoted him saying.

Hasan made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest two different functions- the puja ceremony of Gulshan-Banani Sarbajanin Puja Sangha and the inauguration of the 'Shubho Mohaloya' programme arranged by the Sanatan Samaj Sangha at Farmgate in the city.

Hasan said, "Our flag bears the symbol of the blood of three million people of all religions, in exchange of which we achieved our freedom… We are Bengalis first, then Hindu-Muslim-Buddhists or Christians".

He urged everyone to come forward united for developing the nation, holding the Bengali nationhood upwards.

He expressed the hope that the evil forces will be defeated with the arrival of the Goddess Durga and the unity will deepen among the people of the country.
