BCL leader held in Khulna

KHULNA, Dec 28 (BSS): Detectives arrested a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from Khamerdanga Bazar area in Mongla of Bagerhat district on Saturday.

On a tip-off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police arrested Ronobir Baroi Sajal aged 35, vice-president of Khulna city unit of banned BCL, and hailed from Zoar village under Rupsha Upazila.

In the preliminary investigation, DB Inspector Toimur Alam said they got information of seven cases related to various crimes against Ronobir Baroi.

He also said Ronobir Baroi led the attacks on the students during the movement of anti-discrimination students in July and multiple videos of the attacks were found.

Police produced him before the court that sent him to jail.
