BCL man held in city over Jubodal leader murder

SIRAJGANJ, March 1(BSS): Police have arrested a leader of the banned organisation, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), from the capital in connection with the killing of Sohanur Rahman Ranju, assistant general secretary of the district Jubodal, during the anti-discrimination student movement in July-August, 2024.

The arrestee is Abdullah Bin Ahmed, former general secretary of the district BCL unit and, also a resident of Railway Colony area of Sirajganj municipality.

He was arrested in the Karwan Bazar area on Friday night, said Mobarak Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tejgaon Police Station, on Saturday afternoon.
