Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has withdrawn its previous order expelling a leader of its Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall unit for allegedly torturing a student inside the hall, reports UNB.

The decision was taken on Friday as Iffat Jahan Isha, president of Sufia Kamal hall unit of BCL, was found innocent, in an investigation, said a press release signed by BCL president Saifur Rahman Sohag and secretary S M Jakir Hossain.

Earlier, Dhaka University authorities and BCL expelled Iffat Jahan Isha on Wednesday.

Some BCL leaders and activists led by the hall unit president swooped on the general residents of the hall early Wednesday, leaving Morsheda Akhter, a 4th year student of Botany Department, critically injured.

They beat up Morsheda mercilessly as she had taken part in staging demonstrations demanding quota reform, witnesses said.

Hearing her screams, the other students of the dormitory rushed in and confined Isha.

Later, they handed Isha over to the hall provost after a good beating.
