Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Sunday BNP has developed a habit of shifting the liability of own misdeeds to others, reports BSS.
"BNP is carrying out arson attacks on innocent people but they say that they are waging movement for the people. This is nothing but a farce with the people," he said.
The AL leader came up with the remarks while speaking at a special representatives' conference of Natore district AL at Nabab Siraj-ud-Doula Govt College auditorium in Natore.
Quader joined the function through a videoconferencing from his official residence on parliament premises in Dhaka.
Mentioning that the patrons of arson attacks and terrorist acts would be found out, he said BNP is again hatching conspiracy to fish in muddled water.
"BNP again started arson terrorism as like as they did in 2014. They set fire to buses . . . they are trying to harm the communal harmony," he said, adding that all offenders will be brought to justice on the basis of evidence.
Quader said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is making falsehood and trying to shift the liability of arson attacks to others.
He said AL along with the people will give a befitting reply to BNP's terrorist acts.
About forming committees of different units of the party, the AL general secretary urged the party leaders and workers to include dedicated workers in the committees to make the organisation stronger.
Opportunists and intruders never stay with the party during its crisis, so dedicated workers must be evaluated, he said.
He also urged the party men to work in unison shunning all integral conflicts.
"Sheikh Hasina took the helm of the Awami League after returning to her motherland overcoming different conspiracies and hurdles and sewed the party in a single thread shunning all conflicts. That is why Awami League has turned into a pro-people organisation," he said.
Defying the negative aspects of coronavirus pandemic, the wheels of the country's economy remain in motion under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
