BNP and its associate bodies on Monday celebrated the 53rd birthday of their party senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in a befitting manner with various programmes, reports UNB.
Flanked by party leaders and activists, Tarique's mother and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia started the birthday celebrations by cutting seven cakes, each a whopping 53 pound to match her son's age, at her Gulshan office as the clock struck 12:01 on Sunday night.
After cutting the cakes, the BNP chief spoke to Tarique, who has been living in London since 2008, and wished him over phone.
