FE REPORT | August 14, 2024 00:00:00

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced three-day programmes across the country from today, demanding trial of fallen 'autocrat' Sheikh Hasina and her accomplices for killing students and general people in the anti-quota movement.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement while addressing a communal harmony rally organised by the Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Welfare Front in Shahbagh area of the capital on Tuesday.

As per the announcement, a sit-in will be staged in front of the party's all offices across the country on August 14 and 15.

Milad and doa mahfil will also be held countrywide on August 16, seeking salvation of the departed souls of those who embraced martyrdoms in the movement, and marking the birth anniversary of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Mr Rizvi said they would observe the two-day sit-in programme, demanding trial of fallen 'autocrat' Sheikh Hasina and her accomplices.
